2005 SeasonBent-to-fit, Paint-to-match and Use-As-IS . . . This philosophy got us ready for the last race of the season. After replacing the entire front end from the cockpit forward we hammered the body panels out and got the car ready late Friday night before the race. However, during practice we discovered there was no oil pressure ! ! ! Something not good for 700 HP engines. After a lot of work, we discovered a stuck popet valve in the pump was the culprit. However, by then it was time for qualifying so we only got 2 qualifying laps to see if the setup was correct (and it wasn't). A cold track and loose car made for an exciting evening and one unassisted spin on lap 2. Jimbo managed to work his way up from the back of the field to 6th before #24 blew an engine and laid oil in the groove on lap 30. Another spin and back to rear of the pack on the restart. With only 10 laps left, he could only manage to get back to 7th before the race ended. However, even with completely missing 2 races, we managed to hold on to 7th in the final standings.
